How to read a guitar scale chart

The six horizontal lines are the strings (low E at the bottom, high e at the top), the vertical lines are the frets, and each dot is a note of the scale — filled dots are the root. Want to map your own? Use the blank fretboard diagrams. If you are still learning where each note sits, start with the guitar fretboard notes chart.
